The GSF and the CCT (Tibetan Cultural Center, our sister NGO) bought a stand at the Festival des Migrations giving away tsampa cakes and offering tea and informing the public about the Hospital Project (the GSF) and the Meditation Classes (the CCT). We raised funds and attracted a great number of people who left their contact details with us and are now on our mailing list.
The Festival des Migrations is a beautiful event held at the Lux EXPO every spring. We intend to take part again next year, perhaps more seriously and professionally. This was our second fundraising event and we were only just learning the ropes. Originally we wanted to sell more Tibetan food, not just the humble tsampa, but soon we realised we were being overly ambitious and given our limited number of volunteers we went for the low-key option in the end. The event was successful and enjoyable and it was a valuable experience for us as fledgling fundraisers. See you there next year! And if you want to learn how to make real tsampa, send us an email and we will teach you, it’s dead easy and delicious 🙂
